ARTIST STATEMENT
These are relics of time past, or passing. Dinosaurs and skeletons. Caught briefly in an instant somewhere between here and gone. We can’t hang on to them; so we capture and keep their image. While some still stand today as frail reminders of places and things we might’ve seen or touched long ago, tomorrow they’re all ghosts.
“[The photos] are the proof that something was there and no longer is. Like a stain. And the stillness of them is boggling… You can turn away but when you come back they’ll still be there looking at you.” (Diane Arbus)
